Aim to beat the version of yourself from yesterday. This is the only healthy comparison.
Aim - To intend or direct for a particular effect or purpose.
Beat - To overcome; defeat.
Version - A particular form or variant of something.
Healthy - Prosperous; sound.
Comparison - The act of comparing; to examine in order to determine similarities and differences.
In the internet age, where everybody paints their lives as perfect online, it can be easy to compare ourselves to others.
However, other people are playing different games. You should be in the game of becoming a better you! Naturally, becoming better at this game comes from self reflection. It also shifts the focus away from unhealthy comparisons with others, which rarely have positive effects, and often lead to frustration and self doubt.
The only way to play the game you’re supposed to be playing is by aiming to beat the version of yourself from yesterday. Replace external validation with personal development, and embrace the journey of becoming a better you, not a better version of somebody else.
