Don’t try to be clever, try to not be stupid. Solve the simple problems.
Clever - Mentally bright; having sharp or quick intelligence; able.
Stupid - Lacking ordinary quickness and keenness of mind; slow-witted.
Solve - To find the answer or explanation for.
Simple - Easy to understand, deal with, or use.
Problems - Questions or matters involving doubt, uncertainty or difficulty.
This principle highlights that embracing simplicity and humility in facing our problems can lead to greater success in solving them. If we hesitate to solve simple problems, we remain stagnant. If we overlook the obvious solutions, we’ll always battle the same problems. By finding answers that we can easily begin to take action from, we can address problems more effectively. With this principle, we can focus on consistent, steady progress achieved through problem solving. If we solve one problem, sure, another will take its place. But over time, we search and find more meaningful problems. It’s one of life’s unending endeavours. Over time, our problems will take more time and effort to solve, but most importantly, these bigger questions can’t be addressed if we spend our time idling at simple issues.
